  • Erin Green, Consulting Winemaker

    Erin

    Erin Green, Consulting Winemaker

Erin began her fascination with the science of winemaking and winegrowing as an undergraduate at UC Davis, where she pursued a degree in Fermentation Science with an emphasis on Enology. In the early 1990’s Erin was instrumental in launching Napa Wine Company, a custom crush facility where she was Director of Winemaking.

Throughout her career she worked for Bryant Family Wines and then for Pahlmeyer for over 12 years as Winemaker and Director of Winegrowing. The first vintage she worked on at Martinelli was 2009, and following Helen Turley’s retirement in 2010, became our Consulting Winemaker which is still her title today.

She works closely with our winemaking team to create elegant wines that are representative of the sites they grow. She as an encyclopedia for all things Martinelli vineyards, wine style and history. When not at the winery Erin loves to be at her property at the lake with friends or spending time with her two daughters.

    Carolyn Martinelli

    Fort Ross-Seaview

Carolyn Martinelli grew up on the far Sonoma Coast helping her father, George Charles, raise sheep for wool. She often accompanied her father on horseback, riding her own horse at age 5, to help herd the flock. She attended the one-room school house in Fort Ross with several of her cousins. She moved with her parents to Dixon at 12 years old, because Dixon had better grazing lands for her father’s sheep. Carolyn went to San Jose State and the Santa Rosa Junior College, where she met Lee Sr. As Lee Sr returned to farming after finishing school, Carolyn helped by hauling apples to the cannery and grapes to the wineries buying their fruit. In the later 1990’s, Carolyn and her two sisters, Charlotte and Donna, planted the Three Sisters Vineyards, in the Fort Ross – Seaview AVA, on our coastal property. In 2018, Lee Sr, Carolyn and their four children bought the two sisters out of this property.
